建设生态文明,促进经济高质量发展,不断满足人民日益增长的美好生活需求,是当今和未来水土保持服务和努力的方向。防治水土流失、改善生态环境,应坚持系统思维、整体施策,系统和综合是水土保持学科建立和事业发展的根基。水土保持学科应根据新情况、新问题,在水土流失规律、特点及变化趋势,水土流失治理与生态修复,工业化城镇化背景下的水土保持,以信息化推动水土保持管理与服务的现代化,水土保持生态服务功能评价,水土保持目标考评管理等方面,不断开拓创新,服务于时代发展。

Building ecology-based civilization,promoting high quality economic development and constantly meeting the growing needs of the people for a better life are the service and effort direction of soil and water conservation in the present and future. To prevent and control soil and water loss and improve the ecological environment should adhere to systematic thinking and implement policies as a whole. System and integration are the foundation for the establishment and development of soil and water conservation. The discipline of soil and water conservation should continuously develop and innovate for serving the development of the times according to the new situation and new problems on the aspects of the law,characteristics and changing trend of soil and water loss,soil erosion control and ecological restoration,soil and water conservation under the background of industrialization and urbanization,promoting the modernization of soil and water conservation management and service with informatization,evaluation on ecological service function of soil and water conservation and evaluation and management of soil and water conservation objectives,and so on.
