As the most famous water conservancy project in Huaihe River Basin, Quebei has attracted worldwide attention for its ancient and lasting irrigation benefits. The water conservancy inscriptions, which witnessed the historical development of Quebei water projects, not only record the changing causes and effects of water affairs in Quebei, but also involve many other aspects such as local historical and geographical environment, engineering evolution, governance situation, basic features, and water conservancy regulations.
