Comments on CHENG Yan’s Songs Alternative Script

程燕《诗经异文辑考》一书在前人研究的基础上,比较全面地吸收了各家之长,可以说是目前对《诗经》异文整理最完善、最系统的论著。然千虑不免一疏,兹从个别字分析有误、古今字误认为通假字、解释俗体或异体字依据晚出字书三个方面略为考辨,以资学界参考。

On the basis of previous studies,Cheng Yan’s book of Songs alternative script has absorbed the advantages of various schools comprehensively.It can be said that it is the most perfect and systematic work on the collation of different articles in the book of Songs.However,there is no doubt that there are some mistakes in the analysis of individual characters,the misunderstanding of ancient and modern characters as interchangeable characters,and the basis for the late publication of the book of characters for reference.
