Development and Characteristics of Acupuncture in Europe before Twentieth Century

本研究简要回顾了20世纪前欧洲针灸的发展史,总结并归纳出欧洲针灸的主要特点。在20世纪之前的欧洲针灸发展过程中,医生、汉学家、植物学家等扮演主要角色,针灸传播的途径多样化,法国、英国、荷兰、德国、意大利、波兰和俄罗斯翻译出版大量针灸著作,不但适应症不断拓宽,针具、针法多有创新,还较早关注副作用和不良反应、卫生观念和消毒问题,在应用与研究中把科学技术与传统针灸术相结合,较早使用具有划时代、里程碑意义的电针疗法。

This study briefly reviewed the development history of acupuncture in Europe before twentieth century,and summarized the main characteristics of acupuncture in Europe. During the development of acupuncture in Europe before twentieth century,doctors,sinologist and botanist played the major roles. The transmission ways of acupuncture were various. A large number of acupuncture works were translated and published in France,Britain,Netherland,Germany,Italy,Poland and Russia. At that time,the indications had been broaden,and many tools and therapies of acupuncture had been innovated. Besides that,side effects,adverse reactions,hygiene concept and disinfection issues of acupuncture were paid attention to. In the application and research,science and technology are combined with traditional acupuncture,and the epoch-making and landmark therapy of electro-acupuncture was used in the early time.
