Objective To observe the correlation between the decrease rate of nocturnal systolic blood pressure and alkaline phosphatase in very elderly patients with hypertension. Methods Two hundred and forty very elderly patients with essential hypertension were divided into 3 groups according to the decrease rate of nocturnal systolic blood pressure, with 127 cases in the anti-dipper group,71 cases in the non-dipper group, and 42 cases in the dipper group.Alkaline phosphatase and biochemical indicators were compared between three groups. Results The alkaline phosphatase in the anti-dipper group was(75.04±23.67)U/L<that in the non-dipper group(81.07±35.53)U/L<that in the dipper group(91.42±29.48)U/L,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The result of analysis showed that the decrease rate of nocturnal systolic blood pressure was significantly correlated with alkaline phosphatase,high-density lipoprotein, uric acid, and blood urea nitrogen levels. The multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the level of alkaline phosphatase was most closely related to the decrease rate of nocturnal systolic blood pressure. Conclusion Alkaline phosphatase had certain clinical significance in the clinical diagnosis of very elderly patients with hypertension and should be paid more attention to it.
