语域理论视角下网络英语经济新闻的文体特征探析——以China Daily为例

Analyzing the Stylistic Features of Internet Business News English from the Perspective of Register Theory--Taking China Daily as an Example

互联网经济新闻英语是新闻英语的次语体,具有独特的情景语境因素和文体特征。目前,对互联网新闻英语文体特征的研究尚未形成体系。因此,以功能语法的语域理论为依据,对China Daily网络版中随机抽取的五则英语新闻进行了情景语境、及物性结构、语气结构、情态系统和主位结构分析,有益于增加对英语报刊新闻的认识和了解。

As a sub-variety of news English,Internet news English has its unique situational and stylistic characteristics.Since the study on its stylistic features has not been systematic,it is necessary to make a concrete study.This paper aims to apply register theory in Systematic Functional Linguistics to the analysis of Internet News English(INE)discourses which are randomly selected from China Daily during the period from January to May in 2015,in order to describe the stylistic features of Internet News English at lexico-grammatical level and the influence of contexts.The study concluded that INE is characterized by verbal process,modality,unmarked thematic structure and high readability.The research of INE can further deepen our understanding of English news and better the stylistic study of English for news.
