加拿大华人媒体对1919年南北议和态度的转变——基于《大汉公报》的考察

The Change of Attitude of Canadian Chinese Media Towardsthe North-South Peace Negotiation in 1919——An Investigation Based on The Chinese Times

1919年南北议和不仅是一场政治事件,还是海内外华人广泛参与的政治大讨论。加拿大《大汉公报》对南北议和进行了深入报道和评论,体现了在加华人政治心态的转变。面对内忧外患的时局,《大汉公报》不仅努力维护和会,还积极为和会献计献策。和会破裂后,该报对和议由希望转变为失望,并且反思和会破裂缘由,呼吁以改造社会来变革政治,呼应了中国社会日益激进的思想洪流。然而,受洪门政治立场的影响,该报未能继续深化思想认识。这表明,南北议和期间,加拿大华人对国内政局认识渐趋深刻,但也存在不足。

The North-South peace negotiation in 1919 was not only a political event,but also a political discussion in which the Chinese at home and abroad widely participated.The Chinese Times in Canada made in-depth reports and comments on the negotiation,reflecting the change of political mentality of the Chinese in Canada.Facing the current situation of internal and external troubles,The Chinese Times not only tried hard to maintain the peace conference,but also actively provided suggestions for the peace conference.After the breakup of the peace conference,the newspaper changed its attitude to the peace negotiation from hope to disappointment,reflected on the reasons for the failure of negotiation,and called for the reform of politics through social transformation,echoing the increasingly radical ideological torrent in Chinese society.However,influenced by Freemason's political position,the newspaper failed to deepen its ideological understanding.This shows that during the period of the peace negotiation,the Chinese in Canada have a deeper understanding of the domestic political situation,but they still have some deficiencies.
