Korean Writers'Cognition of China during the Postwar Period

20世纪五六十年代,韩国文学有关中国的书写甚少,究其原因与当时的冷战时局不无关系。考察20世纪五六十年代韩国战时和战后文学中出现的中国因素,通过对比战时文学“现时的敌对”和战后文学的“苦难的20世纪”“记忆中的盛唐”,可以解读五六十年代韩国作家的中国认识。即拥有璀璨文明的古代中国——尤其是唐朝,在韩国作家的中国认识里作为“理想国度”的记忆得到书写;20世纪上半期的中国与韩国是同样饱受外敌之扰的苦难国家,而五六十年代的中国却被置于冷战的对立方,被描写为朝鲜军队的“帮凶”。

In 1950s and 1960s,the literary works themed on China are pretty rare in the Korean literature.This phenomenon was partly due to the Cold War situation at that moment.The paper explores the Chinese elements in the wartime and postwar Korean literature in the 1950s and 1960s.The wartime literature portrays China as"contemporary enemy",while in postwar literature,China appears as"the victim of the suffering 20th century"and"prosperous Tang Dynasty in memory".The comparison between the wartime and postwar literature reveals Korean writers'cognition of China in 1950s and 1960s.In Korean writers'point of view,ancient China with its splendid civilization,especially Tang Dynasty,was constructed as the memory of"an ideal country".In the first half of 20th century,China,similar to Korea,was the vulnerable nation suffering from the attack of foreign enemy.However,when it comes to the 1950s and 1960s,China was the enemy during the Cold War,and it was described as the"accomplice"to the North Korean forces.
