Function, Structure and Action: A Sociological Analysis of the Subculture Phenomenon of "Social-Animal"

“社畜”作为青年亚文化现象,其本质反映了青年社会性异化和群体性焦虑及其与之进行抗争的主体性实践。“社畜”是指从事被占据大部分时间的工作,自主性缺失、经济基础脆弱的青年群体,生活方式上表现为:心理上社交意愿的降低和行为上社交活动的减少。“社畜”作为一种生活方式,其流行具有维系自我认同和构建集体认同的正功能和降低个体身心健康水平及结婚率的负功能。该亚文化现象出现是社会结构和青年群体间互动的过程,应辩证看待和综合治理。

"Social-animal"as a subculture phenomenon of youth,its essence reflects the reality of Social-alienation,group-anxiety and the subjective struggling practice.It is beneficial to better grasp the current situation of youth development to analyze this subculture phenomenon from the perspective of social structure and inter-subjectivity of youth."Social-animal"refers to the young people who are engaged in the work that occupied most of their time,lacking autonomy and weak economic foundation.Their lifestyle shows the decrease of willingness to bond in psychology and social activities in behaviors.As a way of life,the popularity of"social-animals"has positive functions such as maintaining self-identity and building collective identity and negative functions such as reducing the level of individual physical and mental health and marriage rate.This paper makes a double analysis of this subculture phenomenon from the perspective of social structure and inter-subjectivity of youth to grasp the current situation of youth development.The emergence of this subculture phenomenon is a process of interaction between social structure and youth groups,which should be treated dialectically and comprehensively.
