Curriculum Design and Adjustment of the Bachelor’s Degree in the History Department of Soochow University During the Republic of China

摘要 课程设置是彰显高校教学及科研水平的最佳途径,东吴大学在20世纪30年代顺应当时政治社会环境的需要,对学士学位课程,尤其是历史学系的课程进行了较为合理的设置和调整。经过调整,东吴学子能系统地从全局了解国际问题、增强民族责任感和宣传救亡图存的理念,能够承担时代所赋予的历史任务,同时,这一举措也对当时国内其他大学的课程设置产生了深远影响,进而对目前我国高校学士学位教育以及历史学教育有所启示。 The curriculum is the best way to demonstrate the level of teaching and research in colleges and universities.Soochow University in the 1930s conformed to the needs of China’s political and social environment,and carried out a more reasonable setting and adjustment of the bachelor’s degree curriculum in the school,especially the curriculum of history department.Through the setting and adjustment of the curriculum,the students of the Soochow University could systematically understand the international issues from a global perspective,enhance the sense of national responsibility,and publicize the concept of saving the nation from subjugation and striving for survival,and be able to undertake the historical tasks entrusted by the times.At the same time,this move also had a profound impact on the curriculum of other universities,and further inspired the current bachelor’s degree education and history education in China’s universities now.
