Cities and XIAO Hong’s Gender Descriptions——The Female Characters in XIAO Hong’s Works

萧红从乡村小城进入城市空间,都市的现代景观和“五四”新文化运动的思想启蒙令萧红的性别意识开始觉醒。伴随着地理空间的改变,萧红的人物塑造与性别叙事中的空间书写、身份书写相结合,呈现出从单一向多元发展的特征,其性别意识经历了关注女性、建立自我主体和审视男性三个阶段。萧红在乡村空间向城市空间转换过程中性别意识的觉醒和发展,在乡村女性长期失语的文学史书写中具有非常重要的意义。

The modern urban landscape and the ideological enlightenment of“May Fourth”New Cultural Movement enabled XIAO Hong’s gender consciousness to be awakened while she moved from a small country town into urban area.Along with the change of the geographical space,the characterization of XIAO Hong combined the spatial writing with identity writing in gender narratives,and demonstrated the characteristics of development from single to pluralism.And her gender consciousness has experienced three stages:focusing on female,establishing self-subjects and examining male.The awakening and development of XIAO Hong’s gender consciousness during the transformation from rural space to urban space is of great significance in the writing of the literary history of rural women’s long-term aphasia.
