白寿彝先生对古籍整理事业与历史文献学科建设的贡献

Professor Bai Shouyi’s Contribution to Collation of Ancient Chinese Books and the Studies of Historical Literature

白寿彝先生是20世纪中国古籍整理与历史文献学科建设的领军人物。他早年投身于朱子研究、回族史研究的古籍整理和历史文献研究,积累了丰富的经验。新中国成立后,他参与国家古籍整理规划小组的工作,为全国古籍整理的顶层设计和出版规划、为二十四史及《清史稿》的点校做出重要贡献。改革开放后,他担任高校古委会副主任,创建全国第一个古籍研究所,为北京师大的古籍整理事业和人才培养奠定坚实基础。他阐发有关古籍整理的意义、批判继承文化遗产的观念、古籍整理出版的规划和规范、人才培养与学科建设等系统理论,为古籍整理实践指明方向。他从基本理论、学科体系、研究任务和主要内容等方面推动历史文献学的学科建设。晚年他又提出视野更为广阔的发展构想,为"广文献学"的学科建设提供了深刻的启示。

Professor Bai Shouyi was a moving force in collation of Chinese ancient books and the Studies of Historical Literature in the 20th century.In his early years, he devoted himself to the study of Zhu Xi, the collation of ancient books on the history of Hui ethnic group and Studies of Historical Literature, accumulating rich experience.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he participated in the national group of making plan for collation of ancient books, and made important contributions to the top-level design of collation and publishing plan of ancient books, as well as the collation of the Twenty-four Standard Histories and QINGSHIGAO, After the Reform and Opening up, he served as the deputy director of the Committee of All-China Colleges and Universities’ Collation of Ancient Books, and established the first institute of researching ancient books in China, laying a solid foundation for the collation of ancient books and education of Beijing Normal University. He expounded the significance of collating ancient books, critically inheriting cultural heritage, the planning and standardization of collating and publishing ancient book, education and discipline construction, etc., which point out the way to the collation of ancient books. He made a great contribution to the studies of historical literature from the aspects of basic theory, discipline system, research tasks and main contents.In his later years, he put forward a broader vision, which provided an overall vision for the construction of "wide studies of literature".
