从讲述中国故事到尝试中为西用——汉学家石江山教授在传播中国文化中的多重角色探讨

The Utility of Chinese Culture in the Western World:American Sinologist Jonathan Stalling's Multiple Roles in Chinese Culture Dissemination

石江山(Jonathan Stalling)是美国俄克拉荷马大学中美关系学院教授、诗人,中国文学翻译档案馆馆长,《今日中国文学》杂志以及纽曼华语文学奖的负责人,同时也是英文绝句工程以及“拼英”学习软件的创始人。他还曾担任俄克拉荷马大学出版社编辑,出版过系列中国文学作品。本文将以访谈的形式,呈现一个美国汉学家如何以他的方式讲述中国故事。在访谈中,笔者结合石江山教授的诗歌及翻译档案研究成果,结合他对中国文学、中美编辑体制的深入分析以及他对声音与语言问题的深层探究,针对中国文化海外传播的系列问题.从不同角度,同石教授一起探讨如何有效讲述中国故事,如何实现中为西用。

Jonathan Stalling is the professor of University of Oklahoma,a famous poet,the curator of Chinese Literature Translation Archives,director of Chinese Literature Today and Newman Chinese Literature Prize,the founder of the English Jueju project and Pinying software.In addition,he was the editor of the Oklahoma University Press,in charge of publishing a series of Chinese literary works.In the interview,Professor Stalling answers a series of questions on how to spread the“utilizable”Chinese culture from the perspectives of poetry studies,translation archives,Chinese literature,Chinese and American editorial systems,and voices in language.This article presents an American Sinologist's Chinese story in the form of a live oral interview.
