“The Belt and Road Initiative”has provided a new platform and opportunity for Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges.Once as a primary commodity of the ancient Silk Road, tea still plays an important role in the current Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges.Tea originated in China.A unique tea culture has been formed after its introduction into Japan.Characterized by a mixture of Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism,China's tea culture is bottom-up and rooted in the daily life of ordinary people. In contrast,Japan's tea culture was introduced by Buddhist monks, and gradually gained popularity among the public after rising among royal nobles. It is the cultural differences that lead to different proverbs about“tea”in Chinese and Japanese languages. And the differences of“tea”proverbs verify the differences between Chinese and Japanese tea culture.
