Interpretation of Suzhou Numerals in Guihai Nian Geng Liu Bu

新近发现的海南渔民更路簿《癸亥年更流部》约有百年历史,以东南亚海外更路为主,其中有33条更路的更数或水深采用了曾经广泛流传于中国民间的商用数字——“苏州码子”记录,为目前发现的更路簿首例。在分析研究苏州码子记数规则、数位书写特点、应用变化规律的基础上,结合海南渔民更路簿的文化特征,对该簿出现的苏州码子一一释读,并对相关更路进行数字化分析,以期为“更路簿学”研究提供新的案例,为海南与东南亚的文化交流提供新的史料。

Guihai Nian Geng Liu Bu,the newly discovered fisherman’s Genglubu in Hainan has a history of about one hundred years.It’s about the Genglus of the Southeast Asia.Among them,the number or depth of 33 Genglus are recorded by“Suzhou numeral”,a commercial figure once widely spread among Chinese people.Based on the analysis of the counting rules,digital writing characteristics and application changing rules of Suzhou numeral,combined with the cultural characteristics of Hainan fishermen’s Geng-lubu,the paper interprets and analyzes the Suzhou numerals related to the book one by one,and makes digital analysis,which provides a new case for the study of“Genglubu”and provides new historical materials for the cultural exchange between Hainan and Southeast Asia.
