Hazel(Corylus spp)is an important commercial and woody oil tree species,and hazelnut is one of the four famous nuts in the world.Ping'ou Hybrid Hazel is a new germplasm resource developed by Chinese scientists through interspecific hybridization with high nutritional value and economic,ecological and social benefits.In this paper,a detailed introduction was made to the industrial development actualities,research achievements and development potentials of Ping'ouHybrid Hazel with an analysis on its advantages and disadvantages.Some development strategies were put forward to effectively promote sound and vigorous development of the industry.
