Exploration and Practice of Contemporary Embroidered Ornaments

首饰与刺绣在艺术领域里已经存在和发展了几千年,它们有着独特的文化和工艺,然而都各自平行发展,甚少结合在一起。随着人们对个性的追求和手工艺的回归,首饰的佩戴不仅适用于人们穿着上的需求,同时作为一种媒介,更是社会文化和时尚的体现。现代的首饰不同于以往传统设计的地方是其创意方式不再将材料局限于金、银和宝石等贵重材料,任何材料都可以被运用到首饰设计当中。近些年一些设计师尝试制作刺绣首饰,然而成熟的作品还相对较少。本文尝试从刺绣首饰的形、色、技和材等切入点来探讨如何设计和制作刺绣首饰。

Ornaments and embroidery have been existing and developing in the realm of art for thousands of years,which have their own special cultures and technologies,while they have developed in a paralleled way with few integrations.With people’s pursuit of personality and return of handicraft,wearing ornaments is not simply suitable for people’s demands on dressing,as a kind of medium,ornaments also become embodiments of social cultures and fashions.Differences between modern and traditional ornaments lie in the fact that materials of modern creations are not limited to precious ones like gold,silver and diamonds,etc.,instead,any material can be applied to ornament design.In recent years,some designers are trying to make embroidered ornaments,while few mature products have been finished.This thesis attempts to discuss how to design and make embroidered ornaments through entry points including shape,color,technology and material,etc.of embroidered ornaments.
