北海贞德女校旧址及其保护

Site and Protection of Zhende Women School in Beihai City

英国“安立间”基督教会开办的北海贞德女校是北海最早的教会学校之一,也是广西最早的女子学校。近代英、法、德、美等西方列强在北海开设的教会学校达十多所,如今只有贞德女校完好地保存了旧址。北海贞德女校是西方文化植入的重要据点和近代北海接受进步思潮的重要窗口,兼具中西建筑风格特点,是北海近代屈辱历史的缩影,也是西方思想入侵北海的物证,具有重要的保护价值。该旧址目前仍存在一些不容忽视的安全隐患,应根据现状落实保护对策。

The Zhende Women School in Beihai City is one of the earliest church schools in Beihai and the earliest girls school in Guangxi,which was run by the Anlijian Christian Church of England.The Western powers,such as Britain,France,Germany and the United States,had set up their own church schools in the city,reaching at most more than a dozen.Now only this school is well preserved.It is the bridgehead of Western cultural colonization and important window for the city to accept the progressive trend of thought.With both Chinese and Western architectural style,it is the epitome of modern humiliating history of the city,and the material evidence of the invasion by Western thought,which has important protection value.At present,there are still some hidden dangers which can not be ignored,so we should carry out the protection countermeasures according to the present situation.
