The Historical Significance and Value of Democratic Reform in Tibet

回首61年前的西藏民主改革,可以从三个角度解读其历史意义与价值。从西藏地方史角度来讲,是西藏社会历史发展的必然;从近代以来中国的国家建设角度讲,则是确保我国民族区域自治制度在西藏实施的社会主义属性的关键一环,是我国从近代以来反对帝国主义侵略与干涉,实现国家政治、法律制度的统一性和主权唯一性,建立现代民族国家的重要标志;从世界人权发展历史来看,西藏民主改革堪称世界人权发展史上的史诗性篇章。

On the occasion of the 61th anniversary of the democratic reform in Tibet,the democratic reform of Tibet 60 years ago can be interpreted from three perspectives.From the perspective of Tibet's local history,it is the inevitable development of Tibetan social history;from the perspective of China's national construction since modern times,it is a key link to ensure the socialist attribute of the system of regional ethnic autonomy in Tibet.Since then,it has opposed the imperialist aggression and interference,realized the unity of the state politics and legal system,and the uniqueness of sovereignty,and established an important symbol of the modern nation-state.Putting it into the vision of world civilization and the history of human rights in the world,millions of serfs have been liberated and turned over to become masters of their own,and they are also called a magnificent human rights epic.
