Oral History and the Development of Library Literature

口述史学源于远古时期人类的口头传统,在20世纪40年代成为历史学的一个分支学科。在历史的长河中,口述传统源源不断地汇入到图书馆的文献之中,成为人类记录和传承文明的重要载体。对图书馆口述文献的开发,既是图书馆记忆功能的适时回归,又是图书馆发展一个新的增长点。文章认为,图书馆在口述文献开发中,应慎重选择口述史项目,采取独立开发、合作开发等多种方式,认真做好前期文献收集等工作。同时,以“中国图书馆界重要人物专题”口述史项目为例,介绍了图书馆人如何做好自己的口述史,其意义重大、示范性强,成为图书馆事业进一步发展的重要精神财富。

Oral history originated from the oral tradition of human beings in ancient times,and became a branch of history in the 1940s.In the long run of history,oral tradition has been continuously imported into the literature of libraries and become an important carrier for human records and inheritance of civilization.The development of oral literature is not only a timely return of the memory function of libraries,but also a new growth point for the further development of libraries.The paper holds that libraries should carefully select oral history projects,adopt the independent and cooperative development ways,and carefully prepare in the early stage of literature collection during the development of oral literature.The oral history project of“Important Figures in the Chinese Library Community”,which is a good demonstration for librarians doing their own oral history,has great significance and modeling effect,and has become an important spiritual wealth for the further development of library cause.
