Research on Diary Written on Road to Beijing of Vietnamese Envoys from 1840 to 1885

作为使臣出使中国的产物,入清日记详细地介绍了使团的任务及其及出使路线。日记的主要内容可概括为五个方面:一是宫廷见闻的记录;二是西方势力的入侵及对西方军事技术的学习;三是人民生活的苦困;四是自然景观与人文景观的描写;五是城镇情况的记录。借助“异域之眼”,可对晚清社会做一个较为系统的认识。

As a product of a mission to China,the main content of diary written on the road to Beijing could be summarized into 5 aspects:the first was the knowledge about imperial palace,the second was the invasion of western forces and the study of western military technology,the third was the hardship of people's life,the fourth was the description of natural landscape and human landscape,and the fifth was records of urban conditions.With the helped of the“eyes of a foreign land”,we could make a more systematic understanding of the society of the late Qing Dynasty.
