当前岳阳正处于城市结构调整和城市交通发展的关键时期,城市布局结构的变化将对城市交通产生根本性的影响,城市规模扩大带来交通“量”的激增,城市交通特征也将随着城市规模和布局结构的重大变化发生“质”的改变,而城市轨道交通建设发展将成为缓解交通供需矛盾,实现城市交通可持续发展的必要途径。本文旨在立足长远,结合城市现状规划和发展需求等,对岳阳市建设城市轨道交通的必要性进行探讨。

Yueyang is in the critical period of urban structure adjustment and urban traffic development.The change of urban layout structure will have a fundamental impact on urban traffic.The expansion of city scale brings about a surge in traffic volume.Urban traffic characteristics will also change with the major changes in city size and layout structure.The construction and development of urban rail transit will become a necessary way to alleviate the contradiction between traffic supply and demand and realize the sustainable development of urban transportation.This paper aims to discuss the necessity of the construction of urban rail transit in Yueyang City based on the long-term development and the current urban planning and development needs.
