Based on the theoretical developments of the 1990s,such as cultural and sociological shifts in translation, this study summarizes the results of research in Asia into translator and translation history studies, their academic practices, and the exchanges conducted among scholars. These shifts were partly driven by the commonalities between Chinese and English reading and writing materials,as well as the correlations between the cultural and sociological perspectives towards translation theories.Furthermore, more detailed examinations and explanations of the historical materials and sources from different time periods have also led to differing systematic discourses in their studies.A comprehensive overview of these topics will provide a more expansive perspective towards the methods and approaches in this field.
