In today′s society,multimedia is widely used,and it has involved all corners of the national economy and social life.From the early days,people passed information through gestures,portrayals,languages,etc.to texts,pictures,and even telegrams,tele⁃phones,recordings,and broadcasts.,The emergence of TV,movies,and computer networks,the organic combination of these tech⁃nologies has produced a strong shock wave for distance education in the education industry,and has a huge impact on the mass me⁃dia.The application of multimedia technology in distance education has made today’s information Technology has played an impor⁃tant role in education.With the progress and creation of human beings,multimedia technology will also have a more powerful and inestimable effect on distance education.This paper studies and analyzes the progress of distance education and the application of modern multimedia technology in distance education,to prospect the development prospects of multimedia technology and distance education and to imagine the application of multimedia technology in future distance education.
