Ulcerative colitis has an unknown cause,recurring attacks,and a high risk of causing cancer,which seriously threatens human health.Western medicine has no specific treatment for this disease,and the long-term effect is poor,and the treatment cost is high.Through holistic view,syndrome differentiation and treatment,Chinese medicine is flexible in distributing medicines.It has significant effects in improving the clinical symptoms of ulcerative colitis,reducing complications,and reducing the recurrence rate.This article discusses the name and pathogenesis of the disease in TCM.It is believed that the key to the treatment is to warm the spleen and kidney,detoxify and remove dampness,treat the internal organs at the same time,harmonize qi and blood,both internal and external administration,and prevention before the disease.By exploring the TCM diagnosis and treatment of ulcerative colitis,it aims to reveal the advantages of TCM in treating ulcerative colitis.
