"新型政党制度"表述的提出经历了一个历史演进过程。毛泽东提出"工人阶级革命政党领导下的多党制"以及"长期共存,互相监督"方针。邓小平将之从党的方针政策提升到国家政治制度的高度,其后明确表述为中国的"政党制度"。对中国政党制度的表述又经历了一个完善过程:从"社会主义政党体制"发展为"有中国特色的社会主义政党制度",进而提出"中国特色社会主义政党制度"和"新型政党制度"。新型政党制度是马列主义政党理论、统一战线理论和民主政治理论与中国革命、建设和国家治理的具体实践相结合的最新成果。

The term,a“new model of political party system”,has evolved over the Party history.Mao Zedong put forward the principles of“multiparty system under the leadership of the revolutionary party of the working class”and“long-term coexistence and mutual oversight”while Deng Xiaoping furthered the principles to the height of state political system,referring to it as China’s“political party system”.The term has been redefined in the process as the“socialist political party system”,later as the“socialist party system with Chinese characteristics”,and eventually as the“new model of political party system”which represents the latest achievement in combining the Marxist-Leninist theories on political parties,the theories of the united front and democracy with the practice of Chinese revolution,socialist construction,and governance.
