Hermit in Paris and Romantic Knight:Comparison of Allegorical Novels between Italo Calvino and Wang Xiaobo

中国当代作家王小波以意大利作家卡尔维诺的寓言小说为摹本,对其小说理念和标准极尽推崇。然而由于二者不同的成长经历和个人气质,他们的寓言小说在文学幻想、观照方式和元小说书写技艺方面又有着各自的独特性。本文通过探讨“师承关联”下两位作家不同的思考方式和艺术表现,分析比较他们小说迥异的艺术特色和各自独特的艺术魅力。在领略其合而不同的文学秘奥基础上让我们更好地去理解和思考所处的时代、社会及现实。

Wang Xiaobo,a contemporary Chinese writer,imitates allegorical novels of Calvino,an Italian writer,and extremely highly praises his novel ideas and standards.Due to their quite different growth experience and personal temperament,however,their respective allegorical novels are unique in terms of literary fantasy,observation method and meta-fiction writing skills.This paper analyzes and compares the different artistic characteristics of the two writers'novels,by discussing their different thinking ways and artistic expressions subject to the"succession of teachings from a master to his/her disciples".
