许国作为明朝重臣,文学创作带有明显的庙堂之气,寿序稍有突破。寿序的赠予对象以德高望重能者、谨遵妇德贤母为主,寿序中人物形象的刻画、表现手法的传达,折射出许国的为官处事之道,体现了许国的文学创作心态,与明代中后期的创作风气有着紧密联系。

Xu Guo was an important official in the Ming Dynasty. There is an obvious sense of solemnity in his literary works and his birthday prefaces have made a slight breakthrough. The birthday prefaces are mainly given to the highly-respected people and virtuous mothers. The depiction of people’s image and the technique of expression in the birthday prefaces embody his principle of being an official and the way of conducting himself. The birthday prefaces also reflect Xu Guo’s creative state of mind in literature which is closely related to the atmosphere of literature creation in the middle and late Ming Dynasty.
