徐春甫是清代著名医学家,其临证经验丰富且擅长养生,其在《老老余编》中汇集整理前贤大量养生思想并阐释自身临证养生心得,全面阐释老年养生内容丰富而全面。徐春甫认为作为晚辈应以孝为基、敬养为本,老年人应根据四时特点顺时调摄,慎避外邪;老年人气血衰微,行住坐卧、宴处起居须巧立制度;老年人应畅情逸致,但嗜欲爱好需有所节制;饮食调养注意宜忌,但应时时顾护脾胃;膳食药饵应根据老年人的生理特点,善于运用药粥、药酒、药羹等。
