Serial poems"Amistad"written by African American woman poet Elizabeth Alexander draw its material from the slave rebel and its subsequent trial in 1839 in the Middle Passage,the notorious transatlantic slave trade.In some sense,with this in-depth serial poems,Alexander intends to recall a complex and remote"cultural memory"of Black community,and in the pursuit of the"cultural memory",delineating the transformative process of the cultural identity of African American people.
