Objective:To study the effect of healthcare failure mode and effect analysis (HFMEA) mode on complications and nursing quality of patients with venous indwelling needle in respiratory medicine department.Method:From March to December 2019,200 patients were selected from the Respiratory Medicine department of our hospital. They were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group, with 100 cases in each group. The control group received routine venous indwelling needle and nursing. On this basis, the experimental group received HFEMA mode of intervention. The incidence of complications of venous indwelling needle was compared between the two groups.Nursing quality and nursing satisfaction were evaluated.Result:After intervention, the incidences of subcutaneous hematoma, drug extravasation, catheter obstruction, phlebitis and venous thrombosis in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).The scores for basic nursing, service attitude, health education and nursing document writing of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05),and nursing satisfaction was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Applying HFMEA mode in routine nursing for patients in respiratory medicine department can effectively reduce the complications of venous indwelling needle, and significantly improve the nursing quality and nursing satisfaction.
