从地方文献看苏州古塔的建造

Research of the Construction of Ancient Pagodas in Suzhou from the Local Literature

通过梳理苏州现存方志、碑刻、笔记等文献,整理出其中与苏州古塔建造相关的记载,较为全面地了解苏州历史上的古塔建造情况。研究发现,苏州古塔始建于东吴时期,并在历史上有梁代和宋代两次古塔建造的高峰时期;建塔活动的参与者包括皇室成员、僧人、地方官员、乡绅、平民等。由于社会动荡及多次战火,留存至今的大型古塔均建于五代以后,八面七级砖芯木檐式塔逐渐成为苏州古塔的主流形式。

By sorting out the existing local chronicles,inscriptions,notes and other documents in Suzhou,this paper sorts out the records related to the construction of ancient towers in Suzhou,and tries to form a comprehensive understanding of the construction of ancient towers in Suzhou's history.The construction of Suzhou pagodas began in the Dongwu Period(238—250).The first peak period of the construction was the Xiaoliang Period(502—557),and the second peak period was the Song Dynasty.Participants in the construction of the pagodas included members of the royal family,monks,local officials,gentry,and common people.The large ancient pagodas that remain today were all built after Five Dynasties.Since then,the brick core and wooden eaves pagodas were popular,and the eight-sided pagodas replaced the square pagodas as the main plane shape of the ancient pagodas in Suzhou.
