摘要 2020 will probably best be remembered for the pain and suffering brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. But amidst all the gloom, there were also good news stories. One of these was the inclusion of China’s Taijiquan into the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage on December 17 last year. Undoubtedly, this move indicates that the Chinese traditional martial arts, with a history of more than 300 years, is highly regarded by the global community and will be better protected for passing down to future generations.
