A Contrastive Study of the Image of Yang Guifei in Biography of Yang Guifei and The Palace of Eternal Life

杨贵妃与唐明皇的故事不仅在中国广为流传,在日本也产生了广泛而长远的影响。日本当代作家井上靖以相关史料为依据,创作了长篇历史小说《杨贵妃传》,塑造了一个内心孤独、无情且充满权力欲望的杨贵妃形象。洪昇的《长生殿》以杨贵妃与唐明皇的情感为中心,突出表现杨贵妃的至情纯情的特点。中日不同的历史文化语境、作者创作意图等因素导致了井上靖与洪昇作品中杨贵妃形象的差异。

The story of Yang Yuhuan(Yang Guifei)and the emperor Li Longji(Tang Ming Huang)has not only widely spread in China,but also has a broad and long-term influence in Japan.Japanese contemporary writer Yasushi Inoue based on the relevant historical data,created a long historical novel Biography of Yang Guifei(Yang Gui Fei Zhuan),which shaped a lonely,ruthless and power-hungry image.Hong Sheng’s The Palace of Eternal Life(Chang Shen Dian)centers on the feelings of Yang Guifei and Tang Ming Huang,highlighting the characteristics of Yang Guifei’s pure feelings.The different historical and cultural contexts and the authors’different creation intentions lead to the different images of Yang Guifei in Yasushi Inoue and Hong Sheng’s works.
