在传统社会,平民儒学承载“百姓日用之道”,维系人伦,教化民众,优化基层社会治理,却使得民众成为顺化的臣民。走出近代以来的困境,身处“百年未有之大变局”,融入“中国之治”的实践进程,现代平民的积极性、主动性和创造性得到了激扬。现代平民儒学应运而生,不仅拥有新的实践主体,理论架构也实现了革新。在现实的社会政治运作层面上承继先秦儒学固有的“民贵君轻”的思想传统,透过实实在在的社会实践而使臣民成为公民,使以普通劳动者为主体的亿万民众真正成为依法享受权益的国家主人;在意识形态层面上则以“古为今用,洋为中用,批判继承,综合创新”为精神标志,以满足人民日益增长的美好生活需要为价值追求。

In traditional society,the common peoples's Confucianism carries"the common people's daily way",maintains human relations,instructs the people,optimizes the grassroots social governance,but it also makes the people becoming self-conscious subjects.Stepping out of the predicament of modern times,being in a period of"great changes unseen in a century",and integrating into the practice process of"good governance of China",the enthusiasm,initiative and creativity of modern common people have been agitated.Modern common people's Confucianism has not only a new subject of practice,but also a reformed theoretical framework.Modern common people's Confucianism truly exposes the inherent ideological tradition of pre-Qin Confucianism that"people are importantwhile the monarch is not"in the actual social and political operational level.Through real social practice,the subjects have become citizens,and the ordinary workers have become the ruler of the country,enjoying their rights and interests in accordance with the law.At the ideological level,"the past for the present,the foreign for the Chinese,critical inheritance,and comprehensive innovation"is used as the spiritual symbol,and satisfying the people's growing needs for a better life has become the value pursuit.
