海外经历对跨文化能力发展的影响——以留德中国学生为例

The Impact of Overseas Study Experience on the Development of Intercultural Competence——Based on the Empirical Research of Chinese Students Studying in Germany

在"一带一路"时代背景下,我国亟需具备跨文化能力的国际化人才。跨文化能力的培养需要一定的跨文化经历,海外留学作为体验异文化的直接途径,对跨文化能力的作用不容忽视,但国内学术界对中国海外留学生的跨文化能力发展研究却甚少。鉴于此,本文探究海外经历对中国留学生跨文化能力的影响,通过对留德中国学生的实证研究发现,海外留学经历从情感、认知和行为3方面对中国留学生的跨文化能力发展具有积极的促进作用。此外,本文还总结出中国留学生在海外跨文化适应方面面临的挑战,并通过理论和实证研究论述应对这些挑战的策略,旨在为中国海外留学生更加主动有效地提高跨文化能力提供参考,并为未来欲赴海外的留学生的跨文化准备提出建议。

In the context of the Belt and Road Initiative,China urgently needs talents with intercultural competence.The development of intercultural competence is very much influenced by intercultural practices and experiences.Studying abroad is one of the direct ways of gaining such experiences with a different culture and developing intercultural competence.However,the subject of intercultural competence has rarely been the subject of academic discourse in China;therefore this paper will try to focus on how the overseas study experience might influence and impact the build-up of intercultural competence of Chinese students by researching cases of the Chinese students studying in Germany.The empirical research of this paper shows that overseas study expe-rience has a positive influence on the development of Chinese students’intercultural competence in terms of emotion,cognition,and behavior.On the top of that,this paper summarizes the challenges for Chinese overseas students in terms of intercultural adaptation.At the end the authors will also make recommendations for the Chinese overseas students on how to deal with those challenges,so that they could enhance their awareness of intercultural competence,better prepare for and adapt to new environments,and benefit from it.
