Objective To investigate and analyze the cognition of villagers about community resilience in coping with COVID-19 in F village, so as to provide reference for further improvement in the village capacity to deal with public health emergencies. Methods Qualitative research method was adopted to conduct face-to-face interviews with 10 villagers. Results Five dimensions related to residents’ intimacy, resources, development potential, disaster management and information communication were identified and analyzed. It was found that the villagers thought that the overall atmosphere in the village was good and they had a strong sense of belonging to F Village;Although the resources in the village could be mobilized as much as possible to deal with the COVID-19 epidemic, the shortage of medical and health resources in the village and the weaknesses in disaster emergency management and information communication still hindered the epidemic prevention and control. Conclusions It is suggested to solve the problems in the rural emergency management through increasing government investment, integrating village-level resources, actively cultivating rural NGOs, and promote information communication mechanism to improve the rural health emergency management system.
