Objective:To explore application effects of supportive psychological nursing in patients after modified radical mastectomy.Methods:112 patients after modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer were selected as the research objects, and were divided into observation group(n=56)and control group(n=56)in accordance with the random number table method. The control group was given routine nursing, while the observation group was given supportive psychological nursing on the basis of that of the control group. The scores of the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),Mishel’s uncertainty in illness scale(MUIS)and coping style scale were compared between the two groups. Results:After the nursing, the scores of SAS,SDS and MUIS in the two groups were lower than those before the nursing;those of the observation group were lower than those of the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the nursing, the facing score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group;the avoidance and yield scores were lower than those of the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The supportive psychological nursing on the basis of the routine nursing can reduce the SAS,SDS,and MUIS scores of the patients with modified breast cancer surgery, and improve the disease coping styles. Moreover,it is superior to single routine nursing.
