On a wonderful island in Paris,a food revolution(革命)is underway. In fact,30%of the waste produced within Paris was actually organic(有机的)waste. So,people decided to take this organic matter(物质),which is very precious,to turn it into compost(堆肥).The food waste from restaurants and hotels is turning into compost. Then compost is sold to farmers. This is good for the environment, because when food waste ends up in landfill(垃圾填埋地),it releases a lot of methane(甲烷),a greenhouse gas that warms up the earth. However, composting the waste can produce much less methane.
