Research Norms and Professional Commitment:The Implications of the Dispute over Research Paradigms on Social Work Practice Research

社会科学界围绕本土化与规范化的争论对于社会工作专业实践具有重要启示。本土化之争的背后是高质量研究问题的提出与把握,而规范化之争的背后则是探讨社会科学核心方法与实质性议题的平衡关系。社会工作是一个对案主承担专业价值的实践活动,更需要在规范与使命之间保持好平衡关系,一味地追求实证科学规范,会忽略一百年前弗莱克斯纳的警醒——"社会工作与医学的界限"。因此,社会工作研究规范必须建立在专业使命之上,让实践主旨引领其认识论和方法论,而不是用一种科学主义研究方法来规范其专业实践。

The dispute of social science research about indigenization and normalization in recent years has important implications for social work professional research.Behind the argument of indigenization of social science is the proposing and handling of high-quality research questions;behind the argument of normalization is the balance between core research method of social science and real research questions.As a value-laden profession,the social work profession needs more balance between research norms and commitment.Too tightly catching up with the positivism research paradigm,social work will lose its original questioning by Abraham Flexner one hundred years ago:what is the difference between social work and medicine?Social work must base research norms on professional commitment,let professional value and commitment lead research epistemology and methodology,rather than choose one kind of positivism research method to normalize its professional practice research.
