After cross-examining seven Tartarian and Bashkir folk songs in Russian with Mongolian folk songs in China, this paper discovers lots of common points of these songs in melody, mode, structure, and performing style, indicating they may evolve from same origin.Being descendents of The Golden Horde,Tartans and Bashkirs still keep traditional Mongolian music culture.Traditional fold songs are primarily pentatonic, with a distinct Mongolian style. This paper illustrates with evidence that there were close engagements between ancient China and Russia, and provides historical proofs for clear roads, free movements of goods, and culture communication promoted by the Belt and Road Initiative.
