The experience of ICU nurses*caring for dying patients:a qualitative Meta-synthesis

目的:系统整合ICU护士照护临终患者的真实体验及感受。方法:计算机检索The Cochrane Library,EBSCO、PubMed等数据库,纳入符合要求的质性研究,检索时限为建库至2020年1月1日。采用澳大利亚JBI循证卫生保健中心质性研究质量评价标准评价文献质量,采用汇集性整合的方法进行结果整合。结果:共纳入15项研究,提炼出62个明确的研究结果,将相似结果归纳组合形成13个新的类别,并综合成4个整合结果,包括尽全力使ICU临终患者优逝、面对患者死亡的情感体验、面对的困境与挑战、内心的需求与希望。结论:ICU临终患者的死亡质量应得到医疗界的重视,管理者应给予ICU护士支持、指导和鼓励,改善ICU护士心理状况。

Objective: To synthesise the findings of qualitative papers exploring the experience of ICU nurses’ caring for dying patients. Methods: Databases such as The Cochrane Library, EBSCO, PubMed were retrieved from inception to January 2020 to collect qualified qualitative studies. The quality of included studies was evaluated according to JBI Critical Appraisal Tool for qualitative studies. The results were integrated by integrating methods. Results: Totally 15 studies were included. Sixty-two complete findings were grouped to form 13 new categories according to similarities. These categories resulted in 4 synthesized findings: create a good death, emotional reactions, challenge and dilemma, demand and hope. Conclusion: Healthcare workers should pay more attention to ICU patient’s quality of dying, and administrators should provide ICU nurses with guidance, support and encouragement to improve their psychological status.
