High-resolution MRI measurement of entorhinal cortex volume in healthy adults

摘要 目的获得中国健康成人内嗅皮层体积的正常参考值,分析内嗅皮层体积与年龄、性别的关系。方法自大型中国成人脑MRI数据库中抽取100份数据,按年龄18~30岁、31~40岁、41~50岁、51~60岁、61~70岁分为5组,每组20名,男、女各10名。手动勾画内嗅皮层边界,应用三维体积分析软件测量其体积,比较不同年龄组、不同性别及侧别内嗅皮层体积,对内嗅皮层体积与年龄进行相关分析。结果校正后男、女内嗅皮层体积分别为(2057.3±385.1)mm^(3)和(2242.9±398.5)mm^(3),男性体积小于女性(t=-2.357,P=0.020)。不同年龄组、不同侧别内嗅皮层体积差异均无统计学意义(P均>0.05);内嗅皮层体积与年龄无明显相关(P>0.05)。结论获得中国成人内嗅皮层体积正常参考值;内嗅皮层体积无偏侧化,且并不随年龄增长而明显萎缩。 Objective To obtain the normal reference values of entorhinal cortex the volume in healthy Chinese adults,and to analyze the correlations of entorhinal cortex volume and ages and genders.Methods MRI data of 100 healthy Chinese adults were extracted from the large-scale Chinese adult brain MRI database and divided into 5 groups according to the ages,i.e.18-30 years,31-40 years,41-50 years,51-60 years and 61-70 years groups,each including 10 males and 10 females.The boundaries of entorhinal cortex were manually traced,and the volume of entorhinal cortex was automatically measured by three-dimensional volume analysis software.The volumes of entorhinal cortex were compared among different groups,also between genders and sides,and then correlation analysis of the volume of entorhinal cortex and age was carried out.Results After corrected,entorhinal cortex volume in males and females was(2057.3±385.1)mm^(3) and(2242.9±398.5)mm^(3),respectively,in males was smaller than in females(t=-2.357,P=0.020).There was no significant difference of entorhinal cortex volumes among different age groups nor between different sides(both P>0.05).There was no correlation between the volume of entorhinal cortex and aging(P>0.05).Conclusion The normal reference values of entorhinal cortex volume in healthy Chinese adults were obtained.The volume of entorhinal cortex was not lateralized,and entorhinal cortex didn’t atrophy with aging.
