With the continuous improvement of the level of science and technology,optical fiber technology has been rapid development.The application of this technology in communication engineering design,on the one hand,can enhance the communication ability.On the other hand,it can expand the use range of optical fiber communication,so it is favored by all walks of life.In this paper,the characteristics of optical fiber technology are analyzed,and then its current situation and specific applications are explored in detail,and its future development direction is reasonably discussed.
