A Discussion on Origin and Development of Erysipelas

通过查阅历代中医药关于丹毒的文献,梳理丹毒的病名、病因病机及证治规律源流。丹毒多由外感风热恶毒、湿热、热毒客于肌肤所致,其病机不外乎风热蕴毒、气分热毒、湿热蕴毒、血分热毒。丹毒治疗以清热解毒为主,发于头面偏表而兼风邪者还需辛凉解表,兼夹湿热者宜清热利湿,偏里病在血分者当需凉血散血。此外,还可运用砭镰法、火针烙法、外敷法等中医外治法。

By referring to the literatures of Chinese medicine on erysipelas,this paper sorts out the disease name,the etiology and the pathogenesis of erysipelas as well as the origin and development of its treatment based on syndrome differentiation.Erysipelas is caused by external contraction of wind-heat and malign toxin,damp-heat and heat toxin who intrude into the skin.Its pathogenesis is nothing more than wind-heat toxin accumulation,heat toxin in the qi level,dampheat toxin accumulation and heat toxin in the blood level.The treatment for erysipelas is mainly to clear heat and detoxify;the treatment for patients whose erysipelas arises from the head and face and the exterior,and is combined with wind pathogen is to additionally release the exterior with acrid-cool Chinese herbal medicine;the treatment for patients whose erysipelas is combined with damp-heat is to clear heat and drain dampness;the treatment for patients whose erysipelas arises from the interior is to cool the blood and dissipate blood stasis in the blood level.In addition,some external Chinese medicine treatments such as stone needle therapy,fire-needling cauterization method and external application therapy can also be applied.
