Marquis of Haihun’s tomb is the most complete preserved royal tombs with the clearest structure ever dis-covered of the Western Han Dynasty. The relics unearthed from Marquis of Haihun’s tomb are abundant in species and large in quantity. The number of gold wares unearthed from Marquis of Haihun’s tomb is the largest in China’s archeological history. There is a close connection between inscriptions and weight of gold cakes, hoof-shaped gold ingots and kylin’s-toe-shaped gold ingots through the analysis and research on the name, casting processing tech-nique, inscriptions’ content, composition, weight, size and the correlation among various contents of the gold wares unearthed from Marquis of Haihun’s tomb. Part of gold cakes’ inscriptions are records of correction weight. The in-scriptions on the bottom of hoof-shaped gold ingots and kylin’s-toe-shaped gold ingots are signs to distinguish weight and grade.
