The Necessity,Feasibility and Strategy Suggestions of Constructing a World-Class Academic Database in China

文章研究我国建设世界一流学术数据库的必要性、可行性,并提出策略建议。首先从知识传播的角度,论述一流学术数据库的建设比一流学术期刊建设更加迫切和重要;然后从我国现有学术数据库的基础、技术和经济支持能力及市场拓展前景三个方面论述建设世界一流学术数据库的可行性;并在此基础上提出策略建议,即明确世界一流学术数据库的内涵,站在建设科技强国的战略高度,整合多方力量以形成合力,以中文学术期刊走向国际为前提。

This paper researches the necessity and feasibility of building a world-class academic database in China,and puts forward some strategy suggestions.First,from the perspective of knowledge dissemination,it points out that the construction of a world-class academic database is more urgent and important than the construction of world-class academic journals.Then it discusses the feasibility of building a world-class academic database from three aspects:the foundation,technical and economic support ability,and market expansion prospects of the existing academic databases in China.On the basis of these,some suggestions are put forward:clear the connotation of a world-class academic database;stand on the strategic level of constructing a powerful country in science and technology;integrate various forces and form a resultant force;make Chinese academic journals going international a procondition.
