The Reform and Development of Higher Education Under the Background of the Fourth Industrial Revolution

第四次工业革命的到来、新冠肺炎疫情的爆发、大国之间的博弈,这些重大事件使我们清醒地认识到,人类命运共同体是现代人类文明核心价值所在。推动人类文明融合、发展,是高等教育的核心价值所在,也是高等教育未来的发展方向。中国高等教育需要在百年未有之大变局中发挥智慧,为人类发展和社会进步贡献力量。以第四次工业革命为背景,分析高等教育面临的机遇和挑战,研判新时代高等教育的发展方向和变革路径,阐述西安交通大学在这一过程中的发展理念与探索实践,以期对中国高等教育的变革与发展提供理论和实践借鉴。

The advent of the fourth industrial revolution,the outbreak of COVID-19,and the game among big countries have made us soberly aware that a community with a shared future for mankind embodies the core value of modern human civilization.Meanwhile,the integration and development of human civilization embodies the core value of higher education and demonstrates its future development orientation.Confronting with the great changes unseen in a century,China’s higher education needs to give free rein to its wisdom and contribute to human development and social progress.In the context of the fourth industrial revolution,the author analyzes the opportunities and challenges faced by higher education,studies and determines the development orientation and reform path of higher education in the new era,and expounds Xi’an Jiaotong University’s developmental concepts and exploration practices in this process,with a view to provide theoretical and practical reference for the reform and development of China’s higher education.
