Analysis of"The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock"from the Perspective of Structural Semiotics

从结构主义符号学的视角,分析英国作家托马斯·斯坦恩斯·艾略特的诗作《J·阿尔弗雷德·普鲁弗洛克的情歌》中的五种符码,揭示诗歌展现充斥于主人公当时所处社会虚伪堕落、空虚颓废的主题,得出这首诗不是普鲁弗洛克的情歌,而是艾略特对现代社会的一曲挽歌的判断。

From the perspective of structuralist semiotics,this paper analyzes the five codes in the poem"The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock"by the British writer Thomas Stearns Eliot,revealing that poetry is full of expressions Based on the hypocritical,degenerate,and empty and decadent theme of the protagonist’s society at the time,it is concluded that this poem is not a love song by Prufrock,but Eliot's judgment of an elegy to modern society.
