试论詹姆斯·瓦特的工匠精神

On James Watt’s Spirit of Craftsman

瓦特作为杰出的工程师在我国几乎家喻户晓,但其工匠精神究竟何为却不甚了了。这种被流俗遮蔽的伟人不在少数。本文在国外最新研究的基础上,用工程师传统的"器物知识"原理,直接解读瓦特的书信及专利等核心文献,得出结论:瓦特之所以改良蒸汽机,不在于某个突发奇想,而是建立了一个涵盖智识、技术、实业的行动者——知识网络系统。这才是我们理解瓦特、培养瓦特式工匠的核心要义。

James Watt, as a distinguished engineer, is almost a household name in our country, but his spirit of craftsman is not very clear. Therefore, on the basis of the latest research abroad, this paper uses the traditional principle of "thing knowledge" of engineers to directly interpret core literatures such as James Watt’s letters and patent documents, and draws a conclusion: the reason why James Watt improved the steam engine is not from a sudden idea, but the establishment of an actor-knowledge network system. As can be seen, this is the core of our understanding of James Watt and cultivating craftsmen as James Watt.
